“Concern for man and his fate must always form the chief interest of all technical endeavors … Never forget this in the midst of your diagrams and equations." ~ Albert Einstein
Cabs recognises and embraces the need to lend a helping hand to our community.
The South African youth are the future of this amazing country. CABS cares by contributing to the generation of the future.
Sakhumzi Centre for Abandoned Children is a safety haven for abandoned children. The humble beginnings of this sanctuary originated 35 years ago when Amelia Poswa (also known as “Mamma Amelia” took on her first homeless child).
Over the years many hundreds of children have been provided with more than just the basics of food, shelter, clothing and education. They have been blessed with the love, guidance and attention that's so essential to growing children if they're to lead normal, healthy lives and become productive members of society.
When booking a vehicle through CABS Car Hire, proceeds from your bookings go to this charity, to which thousands of Rands have been happily donated over the years. CABS Car Hire and their Staff further assists by the service & repair of the Homes vehicles, utilities and computers. Old clothes are continuously collected throughout the year and handed over for use by the children.
CABS Staff (Cape Town) also showed their support and reached deep into their pockets by contributing R440 to the Blisters for Bread initiative, by holding Cake sales to staff.
All funds raised are directed to the school feeding programme so that more learners can be fed. http://www.psfa.org.za/blisters_for_bread. 3 out of 4 children in the Western Cape go to school hungry every day.
Every year for the past 43 years, the Peninsula School Feeding Association have a big walk, in which school learners, staff, their families and the community are invited to participate. Last year, Blisters for Bread attracted a whopping 15,400 walkers. Over R700 000 was raised (more than £50 000).
